Bethany Mayer has served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Ixia since September 2014 where she is responsible for driving the vision and operation of the company. Bethany brings over 25 years of technology experience to Ixia and joined the company from HP where she held several key executive roles since 2010 and most recently served as HP's senior vice president and general manager of its Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) business and led the company's NFV initiative. Previously, Bethany was senior vice president and general manager of HP's Networking Business unit, where under her leadership the business unit delivered 12 consecutive quarters of growth. Prior to that, she was vice president, marketing and alliances for HP's Enterprise Servers Storage and Networking Group. Prior to joining HP, Bethany served as senior vice president, worldwide marketing and corporate development at Blue Coat Systems, and has held roles at Cisco Systems, Apple Computer, Lockheed Martin, and smaller technology companies. Bethany holds a BS from Santa Clara University and an MBA from California State University, Monterey Bay. In 2015, Bethany was named by CRN as a Top 25 Disruptor in the technology industry due to her years of leading breakthrough technology developments including Software Defined Networking and Network Function Virtualization.
Errol leads Ixia Labs and is Ixia’s chief innovation officer, where he focuses on engineering advances aimed at encouraging organic growth in new product areas. He also works closely with the Ixia management team in evaluating new market opportunities and potential acquisitions and performing early due diligence on potential acquisitions.
Errol brings more than 20 years' experience in the communications industry, with broad expertise in the design, development, and successful commercial marketing of technologies for the Internet and distributed networking community.
Errol Ginsberg founded Ixia in 1997, and took it from a startup to a multi-million dollar company that is a recognized leader in network testing. He served as its president from 1997 to 2000, and its president and CEO from 2000 to 2007. From the early days of Ixia's founding, Errol Ginsberg has helped shape the IP communications testing industry. A visionary leader, Errol has overseen many of Ixia's innovations, including multiuser high-density platforms, CPU per-port interface modules, and high-productivity, test-specific applications. His drive and vision helped forge Ixia into its current position as a market leader.
Errol became chairman of the Ixia board of directors in January 2008.
Before Ixia, he served as vice president of Engineering at NetVantage, a network equipment manufacturer. From November 1994 to February 1996, he served as an engineering consultant to Netcom Systems, a test equipment manufacturer.
Errol holds a BSEE from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa.
Alex Pepe joined Ixia through the acquisition of Anue Systems, where he most recently served as President and CEO. Alex was responsible for leading the Anue organization to the industry-recognized network visibility solution provider that attracted Ixia’s notice. He has more than 25 years of experience in the technology industry, with 15 years in executive leadership roles.
Prior to joining Anue, he spent six years as a senior vice president with Freescale Semiconductor where he led global operations. His role there included all manufacturing, procurement, and supply chain systems. Previous to this, Alex served as general manager of one of Motorola’s embedded microcontroller business segments. Alex has held executive level positions in strategy and business development, factory operations, and engineering.
Alex earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Colorado State University.
Brent Novak serves as Ixia’s Chief Financial Officer overseeing the company's worldwide finance, accounting, and tax functions. Brent joined Ixia in 2004 as the company’s Senior Director of Finance, and prior to his appointment to Chief Financial Officer, Brent served as our Acting Chief Financial Officer beginning in March 2014, and as our Vice President, Finance responsible for the company’s planning, reporting, and tax functions since 2006.
Brent's experience with corporate finance stretches over 20 years. Prior to joining Ixia, Brent served as the Director of Finance and Corporate Development at Idealab, a creator and operator of small to mid-sized start-up technology companies, for four years. Brent began his career in the audit practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he became a manager and served both public and private companies mostly in the technology industry for five and a half years.
Brent is a certified public accountant and graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara, Summa Cum Laude.
Dennis Cox co-founded BreakingPoint in 2005 and served as its Chief Technology Officer until the acquisition by Ixia in August, 2012. Dennis’ vision and leadership contributed to making BreakingPoint a leading security validation solution provider.
At Ixia, Dennis is responsible for the technical vision and direction of the security and application group – including testing solutions, security research, and application delivery. Dennis has more than 15 years of industry experience in bringing high-performance network devices to market, and is the author of numerous patents on various topics from IP Spoofing to Network Processors.
Previously, he was one of the founders and the Director of Engineering at TippingPoint. Responsible for product direction at TippingPoint, Dennis created innovations in intrusion prevention systems (IPS) and saw the company through its acquisition by 3Com in 2005. Dennis is also a frequent contributor to online technology publications and a highlighted speaker at technology events.
Marie Hattar, as chief marketing officer (CMO), is responsible for Ixia’s brand and global marketing efforts, including product and solutions marketing, corporate marketing, field marketing, corporate communications and partner marketing. She drives Ixia’s corporate positioning, messaging and communications to both internal and external audiences. Marie has more than 20 years of marketing leadership experience spanning the security, routing, switching, telecom and mobility markets.
Before joining Ixia, Marie was chief marketing officer at Check Point Software Technologies where she reestablished the company as the leading end-to-end security vendor. Prior to that, she was Vice President at Cisco where she led the company’s enterprise networking and security portfolio and helped drive the company’s leadership in networking. Marie also worked at Nortel Networks, Alteon WebSystems, and Shasta Networks in senior marketing and CTO positions.
Marie received a master’s degree in Business Administration in Marketing from New York University and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto.
Matt Alexander leads Ixia’s legal department, which oversees all legal matters related to Ixia's business and operations worldwide. From 2004 to 2007, and from 2009 through 2014, Matt served in various positions in the department, including as Senior Corporate Counsel, Assistant General Counsel, and Deputy General Counsel. He was appointed as our Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary in 2015. From 2007 until returning to Ixia in 2009, Matt served as the Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary of DataDirect Networks.
Matt began his legal career in 1998 as a corporate and intellectual property attorney with Irell & Manella LLP. He received his bachelor’s degree (summa cum laude) from the University of California, San Diego, and his Juris Doctor degree (Order of the Coif) from Stanford Law School.
Patti is the acting leader of Ixia’s worldwide sales organization, and the company plans to appoint her to the role of Senior Vice President, Global Sales, effective September 1, 2016. Patti has over 20 years of technology sales experience and has been a valued member of the Ixia team since 2008. Since August 2014, Patti has served as our Vice President, Sales, Americas. In that role, and prior to assuming leadership of our worldwide sales organization, Patti was responsible for the company’s largest multi-national sales region. From February 2008 to August 2014, Patti served as our Vice President, Sales, East. Each Ixia sales region lead by Patti has experienced double digit sales growth over the course of her tenure.
Prior to Ixia, Patti held several sales and marketing roles with Agilent Technologies and Hewlett Packard. Patti graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University and has been awarded two patents.
Walker Colston is Ixia's vice president of global customer delight, a position that manages Ixia's global technical support services. With a motto of “relentless commitment to your success,” his vision is making customers successful executing their projects using Ixia solutions. Walker joined Ixia in June of 2003 and has worked in Ixia engineering operations and converged monitoring solutions.
Walker brings more than 20 years' experience to Ixia, ranging from engineering, to technology management, to operations. An adept executive, Walker draws on experience from both startups and Fortune 500 companies in the test and measurement, computer-aided engineering, and Internet industries, including Hewlett Packard, Parametric Technology Corporation, and AllAdvantage.com.
Walker holds a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Chris is responsible for global Human Resources at Ixia. As a leader, Chris is known for being a highly collaborative and results-driven executive, striving to align business strategy, culture, and values.
Joining in August 2008, Chris brings a diverse background in wireless communications, and Internet media, services, software, and bio-pharmaceuticals to Ixia. His broad functional expertise and management acumen were honed while working for public companies such as Yahoo!, Overture, Kinko's, Dassault Systeme, and Pinkerton.
Chris holds a Masters in Human Resources and undergraduate degrees in Management and Finance from the University of Utah.
